If we're collecting data about you, we want you to be clear on how we'll use it, and why we've collected it. This notice should clear things up. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to drop Emma an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you interact with Utopy, we record data about you in a database. If you sign up to emails on this website, we store the fact that you consented to emails, when you did that and your name and email address.
If you provide thoughts in any comment boxes, complete our quiz, or express interest in a specific bright idea, we store that information. We may use it to send you emails that are specifically relevant to your interest or just use it to inform our decisions in future about what people are interested in or passionate about.
We have your full contact details and all the awesome work you completed while you are/were on the course. We might use this to remember how awesome you were for example when you ask us for a work reference. We might also use your quotes and images for marketing purposes - but only after seeking your specific permission.
If you have registered for emails, we hold your data under the legal basis of ‘consent’.
If you are or have been a Charity Fast-Tracker, we may hold some data under ‘legitimate interest’. This legal basis means we only use your data in ways you would reasonably expect and which have a minimal privacy impact. We hold your data in order to support you, and only hold a minimal amount of data, so the privacy impact is minimal.
If you are a Charity Fast-Tracker we may have your data from when the course was owned by Child.org and before we seperated to become a separate organisation. Otherwise, Utopy do not use any third party sources of personal data. All the data we hold is collected by us personally and directly - when people voluntarily submit their information. If we've got your data, it's because at some point you filled in a form and gave it to us.
We don’t aim to keep any data for longer than we need to. We think that you'd reasonably expect us to keep your data for 50 years, so that's our general retention period. After this point, we will keep the data but remove any and all the identifiable information. (Of course, we'll also happily delete all your data whenever you get in touch and ask us to!)
Yes. Utopy pledge to take all appropriate technical and organisational measures against unauthorised or unlawful processing of your personal data. We also do all we can to protect personal data against accidental loss, destruction or damage.
If you are a Charity Fast-Tracker, we will share your information with Child.org so that you are able to work with them directly (you specifically consent to this when you apply for the course).
Otherwise, we will not share your data with anyone.
